Process Lines
Our Company holds exclusive rights to sell and service food processing machinery that are manufactured by several suppliers, our Principals. We classify their machinery into Equipment Groups, which process Food Types using Process Lines.
In addition we also manufacture some Equipment Groups in Paarl, notably spiral freezers for freezing IQF chicken, carton freezers, conveyor belts and support platforms.
Ambient cooling – Chiller or ambient cooler
AM SuperSPIRAL
The AM SuperSPIRAL is an industrial in-line continuous process designed to chill or cool a wide variety of products. The system consists of a product conveyor belt arranged in a helical spiral in which carefully controlled, ambient or refrigerated air moves across the product to remove the heat.
The AM SuperSPIRAL is based on a tried and tested robust design that ensures customers can maximise profits due to its reputation of being an efficient and reliable machine.
The principle of operation is a conveyor belt forming a continuous loop driven by a central rotating drum with the tension controlled by an outfeed motor. The drum drive motor and the outfeed tension motor are controlled using two inverters which are coordinated to provide the correct ratio between the speeds of the drum and belt to ensure a smooth operation. The product is conveyed into the SuperSPIRAL enclosure near the bottom and spirals upward through the freezing/cooling zone to be discharged at the “outfeed” close to the top of the SuperSPIRAL. The belt speed is variable and can be adjusted to suit the cooling time requirements of the different products. Different products with similar cooling times may be cooled simultaneously. Products maintain their position relative to the belt width throughout their passage through the SuperSPIRAL. From the “outfeed”, the belt returns to the “infeed” position through a tensioner that compensates for belt length changes due to temperature and wear.
Air is circulated through the SuperSPIRAL to extract heat from the products using axial fans mounted to evaporators if using chilled air or on frames if ambient. Where applicable evaporators are manufactured from stainless steel pipes with aluminium heat exchanger plates.
The entire SuperSPIRAL is controlled by PLC’s using an HMI interface to provide functionality
The AM SuperSPIRAL is bespoke and can be configured to suit specific requirements relating to capacity and layout.
Features:
- A range of belt widths ranging from 400mm up to just over 1000mm in width
- Belts can rotate clockwise or anti-clockwise.
- Placement of infeed and outfeed options available
- The number of spiral tiers is configurable to meet the required freezing capacities
- Options for twin stack coolers with infeed and outfeeds at the same heights
- SuperSPIRAL footprints vary depending on chosen belt widths
- Capacities range from ½ t/h up to 8t/h
- Automated product zone cleaning and drying systems
- Controls for refrigeration valves via the SuperSPIRAL PLC and HMI

AM CARToFREEZER
The AMCARToFREEZE is an industrial in-line continuous freezing technology designed to freeze a wide variety of products that are packed into cartons and that require long freezing or chilling times.
The conveying system in the freezer is fully automatic and equipped with all safety devices and lockouts. The infeed and outfeed are arranged at one end of the freezer.
The product is only handled twice during the whole process, once when it is automatically fed onto the carrier in the unfrozen state and once when it is automatically discharged from the carrier in the frozen state
At the end of the working day, the products can be left overnight in the AMCARToFREEZE at low temperature. This allows the packing operation to run simultaneously with the production. It provides a continuous and controlled flow of products. The design is compact and in relation to its capacity, occupies a minimum of valuable factory floor space.
In an AMCARToFREEZE there may be three or four shelves to each carrier, depending on the model chosen. The number of carriers in the freezer depends on the freezing capacity and the required holding time.
The steel structure is carefully designed to ensure a high standard of hygiene. The main structure is manufactured from easy-to-clean profiles which are zinc-coated (Galvanized) for protection against corrosion. All sheeting is galvanized.
The AMCARToFREEZE is hydraulically driven
Air is circulated through the freezer in order to extract heat from the products using axial fans mounted to evaporators via a pressurised plenum chamber. Evaporators are manufactured from stainless steel pipes with aluminium heat exchanger plates.
The entire freezer is controlled by PLC’s using an HMI interface to provide functionality
Capacities range from 2t/h up to 16t/h
Option to Control refrigeration valves via the freezer PLC and HMI
